It’s anonymous but just ask them to keep it anonymous as well. The media needs to report on this. |

Two years ago, a kid at Westland middle school tugged/threw things at the sprinkler system in one of the classrooms, and set off a flood of water everywhere - dark brown water, since the water in the system hadn't been moved in ages. It took days for the school to dry out. They installed large industrial fans in the corridors.
The school had to evacuate that day, and the line of cars that converged on Westland blocked the Little Falls Pkwy intersection with River Road AND the intersection with Massachusetts Ave, because the Principal wanted adults picking up the kids to show ID. It was an unholy mess until she gave up and let the kids out to fend for themselves. My older kid had planned on picking up his sister for the first time ever, with his new driver's license. He got a little more than he bargained for, plus a couple more kids who hitched a ride in his car. Memorable day all around. |
| That’s rich. |
| Open late this week for PSAT testing? Then closed on Friday. Woo hoo! |
| Bad behavior but why is it so easy to get a sink off the wall? |
| PP-The video my son saw was taken from his friend at the school when it happened. There is no identifying person in the video- just the water coming out of the wall and the flooded halls. Not sure how to take a video off of a SM chat but will encourage the student who has the video to report it directly. |
Or at least send it to the student newspaper so they can publish it and other media can grab it from them. |
| Lord in heaven! Not at Whitman. The student surely must be a transfer. |
Do parents really attend parent visiting day in high school? Why? Do you tell your kid you'll be visiting and then ignore them when they beg you not to? Or do you just not tell your kid and show up to their classes unannounced? |
I’m sure they can identify the student. The question is whether Central Office will allow Admin to implement any disciplinary measures. |
They'll be part of a restorative justice circle and get to talk about their feelings. |
| Bad parents. |
Who else would be there to talk to? The sink? |
Ha ha! This made me laugh |
In the yearbook last year, I'd estimate about 40% of the 8th graders mentioned that day as "their most memorable day" of middle school! |
