Colleges or summer programs like old CTY

Lots of schools have summer programs. Brown and Stanford come to mind. Carleton’s is somewhat unique in being taught by actual regular profs. TechID is taught by college students but nearly everywhere.

CTY was amazing for my kid. They are in college now and still talks about how that program ecouraged their strengths and shaped their career direction. Those were my kid's happiest times.

Is that different than the summer enrichment program?

What is "old CTY"? You can go to CTY up until 12th grade.

I am a 42 year old lawyer and went to CTY for three years back in the 90s. It changed my life. I am still friends with some people I met there.

My daughter did the summer program at St. Johns college and her only regret was not starting it sooner. It was a great mix of rigor (with a focus on great books) and social/fun that worked well for the kind of teen she was then. She ended up going to St. Johns but lots of her summer program friends went other places and they are still all very close.

That was for old CTY. Wonder if the new CTY would foster the same kind of deep bonds.
