I picked up this cardigan (in cream, no longer available online) a few weeks ago:
https://www.uniqlo.com/us/en/products/E475462-000/00?colorDisplayCode=09&sizeDisplayCode=003 It's super cute with my high-waisted wide-leg jeans. Even my 14-year old daughter thought it looked good. I got it in XS, as I think the key to making this sort of jacket look stylish and not frumpy is to keep it fairly cropped and close to the body. |
I saw a nice looking cashmere cardigan in the Garnet Hill catalogue -
https://www.garnethill.com/briar-cashmere-cardigan/clothing/categories/sweaters/667270?listIndex=6&uniqueId=667270&isNewProduct=false&newItemBadge=true It is way out of my budget but I think it's really pretty. Def not a "sexy" cardigan however. They have a lot of nice looking sweaters right now (all of which are out of my budget, but I can still appreciate how they look): https://www.garnethill.com/merino-hand-knit-pullover/clothing/categories/sweaters/701467?listIndex=33&uniqueId=701467&isNewProduct=true This washable cashmere zip-front cardigan, too: https://www.garnethill.com/washable-cashmere-bomber-cardigan/clothing/categories/sweaters/699568?listIndex=2&uniqueId=699568&isNewProduct=true |
That chunky Garnet Hill merino sweater is going to pill like nobody's business. That sort of loosely spun yarn is a nightmare even with a hearty wool. Doing it in merino (already pill-prone) is ridiculous. Save your $289 for a sweater that won't look like garbage after 1 wearing. Just a public service announcement. |
Or just deal with a bit of pilling? It happens with wool, since it's a textured knit it won't be very obvious, and it's a gorgeous sweater. Way out of my budget though. I basically updated my entire fall wardrobe for less than that on Thredup. |
I think that lady cardigans look good on your people but are aging on middle aged women. Harder to pull off the older you get. |
