It is not a guarantee that a child will be placed in LIV services but it does mean that the AART will have more time to evaluate that child because they will be looking at the kids who are LII identified when they are in classrooms and talking to the Teacher. DS was in LII in second grade, his LI class did not id LII in first grade because the focus was on learning the new language. He never told us about pull outs with the AART but we didn’t ask him either so maybe there were some. But the AART and the First Grade Teachers worked together to id the kids they thought needed LII. And some kids received reading or math, a smaller number received both.
