Teacher not sharing reports for fall assessments

New policy that they won't review iready detailed reports without a parent teacher conference.

OP here. I think whether and when the report is posted in parentvue varies by school.

Last year I was able to get a detailed report that showed how dc did relative to VA standards (was suggested by someone on this forum) and was also able to get the parent report. This year (different teacher different school), I'm getting a few scores but no detail until parent-teacher conference.

For those who want the percentiles you can get that online (I found it belatedly): https://cdn.bfldr.com/LS6J0F7/as/ck29g9k45bstghwgvs8m4xmb/iready-norms-tables-K-8

That's fun. I was told by my kids 2nd grade teachers that parent teacher conferences started earlier this month and they weren't planning to do one for us because I had asked for an informal meeting at beginning Sept. (I did that because we had a doc appt coming up and I needed to know how his meds were working....). Annoying.

They keep the results for parent/teacher conferences in November to avoid the inevitable phone calls, emails, etc. from parents asking questions about them if they are posted. It's annoying because I have other things I want to talk about other than iReady at the conference, and we only have 20 minutes.

I inquired about the iReady results after my teacher told me they weren't considering meeting with us since my kid is doing so well. She happily sent home the report yesterday in my kids backpack and said he did great. She sent the math iReady home.

YMMV but my child has raw scores for the fall test in SIS this morning.

Thank you!

Is everyone using this link for the raw scores to determine percentiles?

The 2nd grade Fall iReady Math and VALLS scores are now available in SIS ParentVue.

a) Does anyone have reliable information on whether the VALLS info is included in the Level IV AAP file? If it is, what specific details will be included—such as the scaled score or risk category?

b) Is there a norm table interpret the VALLS scaled score in relation to percentiles - similar to what we have for iReady Math?

Child's fall iready score is available but not the VALLS? Where do you see VALLS listed just in case I've missed it?

VALLSS score is under Documents, just below Test History

VALLS posted in ParentVue (app only) under Documents tab - a PDF file consisting of 4 pages.

This is a new rule, they won't give anything out unless you come in for a conference.

What is VALLS?

VALLSS stands for Virginia Language and Literacy Screening System. It is a new test given to students up to 2nd grade, and is a replacement of iready reading that was given in the past. Here’s the link from FCPS’ website

https://www.fcps.edu/virginia-language-and-literacy-screening-system-vallss-information

For iready reading the diagnostic report used to provide lexile level, which is really helpful. Does anyone know if VALLSS report provide such information? TIA
