Anyone think filler totally not worth it?

Guess what the biopsy showed? It was filler that had migrated from my cheek area. I’ve never had filler in or near my lips. I’ve done fillers every 1.5-2 years in my cheeks for around 7 years. It’s been over 2 years since I last had it done so it does not dissolve completely.

Never again! And now I wonder if the sagging that’s recently developed in my jowel area is filler that has migrated down.

Thank you for sharing this. You’ve convinced me to never ever get filler

When you do it well and tasteful people feel overcharged and underserved; they barely notice a thing. When you do too much they either a.) like it a lot because their imagine of themselves has become slowly distorted over the years or b.) they hate it and feel overcharged and poorly served. There was no "win" with fillers. Botox has a broad category of "winning", it serves A LOT for many things but fillers just very rarely hit. I felt like even the best offices were counting on category A of women and it was beginning to really make me hate the entire industry so I got out.

I don’t know, i have undereye filler and absolutely love it. I have gotten it twice (spaced out 14 months) and don’t expect to get it again until closer to 20-24 months next time. It was done conservatively.

What kind of filler was it? Did you have it removed/biopsied because it didn’t occur to you that it could be filler? It may have been possible to dissolve it instead, depending on the type you used.

I for half a syringe of lip filler and the plumping effect is great, BUT I think it migrated and/or negatively impacted my top lip border and Cupid’s bow. It used to be sharp and now it’s like…fluffy? Hard to explain.

I’ll probably never get it again. Botox, magic. I will always splurge for Botox.

I like Sculptra way more than filler

I did lip filler from 2015-2019 and usually left my appointment feeling like I spent a lot of money with minimal effects. Then I noticed migration of my lip filler so I got it dissolved and decided to stop.

A few years later I was convinced by my new injector to try again. I can confidently say that it’s NOT a problem with filler but a problem with the providers doing the injections.

All injectables have the potential to migrate, so if you didn't notice it's most likely that your provider only injected a miniscule amount. Those miniscule amounts however, will continue to gravitate downwards to wherever the skin has the least support structures and accumulate with time.

Maybe there is good filler out there that I'm just not noticing but most of it seems to look weird. The aesthetician who does my microneedling was recommending some filler and just looking at her face was enough for me to say no. Uncanny valley.

It was Juvaderm Voluma. It never occurred to me that it was filler. I went to my dentist initially and he referred me to an oral surgeon. They typically biopsy any unusual bump that develops in your mouth. Neither he nor I thought of filler as a possibility. Perhaps if I had had fillers in my lip area, it would have occurred to me but I never thought fillers from my cheek area would migrate like this.

Perhaps it would have dissolved eventually.

Voluma is one of the longest lasting and most difficult to dissolve fillers. What you’re seeing in the jowl area is almost certainly migrated filler. I’d get a skilled provider to do an ultrasound guided dissolving, then get a facelift if you want.

I liked Botox every 4 months but last time my doctor screwed up. I had horrible increasingly large purple bruises around my eyes for a month from the crows feet sites. I called and doc never responded.
So now I am scared to get Botox even from different doctor. I think I never will let them do near my eyes
I thought her fillers were good but what really was worth the money for me was Thermage on jaw line. Lasts years.
