Do you clean your own toilet?

I am smart, educated, I have a graduate degree and I’m not above cleaning my own toilet or cleaning my own house which I do every week.

Housework is not beneath me.

All you creeps who pay someone to clean your toilets and stuff. I hope they don't use the same tools on you bathroom counter and kitchen. Bwahaha! I would.

I clean my own toilets. Once a week. Put the blue stuff around under the rim, use the brush, flush.

We don't seem to have feces encrustation.

$13M NW and yes, I clean all of our toilets. My kids occasionally do their own, but I usually have to come in after them and do a slightly better job. But cleaning the toilet is really one of the quickest and easiest household chores.

I've an MD so understand germs better than MBA folks and if a guest or kid's friend or a handyman etc coming and using any of the toilets on days my cleaner isn't coming, I'll do a sanitary clean for sure, not going to use it or let kids use it until I do.

I have a cleaning lady and I clean the toilets before she comes over or if they look dirty.

I grew up in South Asia and we had hired help cleaning our house every morning and evening so I didn't have to do it myself but when I moved to US, I learned it. I did hire cleaning service eventually but would never go back to have live in help around in house, feels like invasion of privacy.

I do agree with hiring help to spread the money in community and to save time to use it for things cleaning crew can't do for you like spending quality time with your kids, working out, relaxing with your spouse, getting a high paying side gig to earn more money etc.

Our cleaning lady comes 3 times weekly so I don't usually clean the toilets. That said, if she goes on vacation or is out sick I don't have any problem with doing it.

I do all that and clean my toilets, too.

Me again. Just because you can pay for someone to do your housework doesn't mean your above doing it yourself.

I clean my own toilet (and also other people's toilets -- I am the only person in my household who regularly cleans bathrooms). I have never really thought about it before but I actually do think this kind of chore sort of "keeps you humble" because while not laborious it is kind of gross.

I also feel this way about other chores though and about certain aspects of childcare (changing diapers or taking care of a kid with the stomach flu or potty training kids) that I do think most parents go through even if they have housecleaners. So I don't think you have to clean your own toilets to be down to earth -- it's just one of many things you can do that will keep you kind of humble about the human experience.

No, we use cleaners, but if it needs a clean in between I do it. It's one of the things we choose to outsource but I have no qualms about doing it and will expect it to become one of my kids' chores once they are older.

Lol I don't know if not cleaning toilets means you're out of touch but I do know this post was written by an out of touch person. "I hire help to spread money in the community." I'm dying here.

Yes. I have a son with less than ideal aim, so I clean his toilet too (when he’s a few years older, he’ll be cleaning his own mess). It’s like the least labor intensive part of a given day.

If you think you're above cleaning a toilet, you are not someone I care to know.
