Telling adult children about health diagnosis

Wow. You need to get over yourself.

Three of my friends have had cancers: one where the lymphoma reoccurred and after a incredibly difficult bone marrow transplant, he survived his second bout. One with breast cancer and thyroid cancer in the same year, successful surgeries and reconstruction. One with breast cancer and lung cancer in the same year, successful chemo but lifelong immunotherapy for the lung cancer. All in their 40s, with elementary/middle/high school aged children.

What did you think they did, OP? They couldn't very well hide the truth. They're all several years out and doing very well.

I can guarantee that hiding the truth makes loves ones deeply resentful, because they will live that as a betrayal of trust: that you did not trust them enough with a life or death sort of information.
