In order to suck up to the Fat Felon.

"Suck" is the operative word here.

It's all politics.

I hate Lindsey Graham but he's just being a politician here. I don't see how it's "grotesque".

You don't see how manipulating the electoral college ~50 days before an election is a grotesque perversion of democracy? While our definitions of what is normal from a politician have changed a lot recently it would actually be historically unprecedented in modern history to do something like that.

Probably because he used to be a Democrat until this past April, changed sides because he is anti-abortion. But still has common sense and decency absent in today's GOP.

Yeah rules don't apply to GOP. Remember when Obama couldn't nominate in March 2016 b/c it was an "election year" yet DTJ was allowed to squeeze ACB less than a month before an election!

McDonnell sees the writing on the wall - Trump is going to lose. McDonnell wants to be mayor of Omaha.

If he thought Trump was winner
he would’ve voted for winner takes all but McDonnell sees Trump is a loser so he’s jumping ship.

+1 Not sure he thinks Trump is going to lose but if he pulls all that business out of Omaha there’s no way he has a chance at mayor.

Also, I hope he’s prepared for the death threats he’s going to get from Trumpers now.

Underscoring the point about Omaha losing all that business… Lindsey Graham? Huh.

This seems like the official last word on this.

He wants to be mayor of Omaha so he's got to play his cards right.... If they're actually stupid enough to do this, Nebraska loses the little political power it actually holds

But it’s “too late” for Trump to do another debate.

By the way it was last minute like this because if they did it a while ago Maine was going to do the same thing with its electoral votes the other way - they have one district that Republicans win while the other go to Democrats, and there’s a Democratic trifecta in charge of the state. But Maine has a law that you can’t change anything having to do with an election within 90 days of that election, so they had run out of time to retaliate. Nebraska needed 2/3 to push this through because it was so close, and that’s why it failed.

Lindsey Graham constantly flirts with the idea of doing the right thing and then sprints away from it.

I guess we disagree on the semantics. It seems on brand for Lindsey Graham, who has not hidden that his main goal in life is to be relevant. Not to stand up for principles, but to have an impact, any impact.

The EC is already undemocratic.
