Nebraska shenanigans

Anyone have inside scoop on this push by Lindsey Graham to get a last minute change to “winner takes all” for Nebraska? It’s grotesque and appalling and all that but - is there any chance he’ll push it through?

Does Nebraska need super majority to change the legislation? Or just simple majority?

From this afternoon's Politico Playbook:

Omaha: Will Nebraska Republicans actually spring for Trump world’s urging to rewrite the state’s Electoral College vote allocation, siphoning a likely vote from the Omaha-area congressional district from Harris? The signals have been mixed. The Omaha World-Herald’s Martha Stoddard reports today from Lincoln that the change still looks “unlikely.”

Oops hit send too fast. Part 2:

State Sen. LOREN LIPPINCOTT, the bill’s sponsor, said Sen. LINDSEY GRAHAM’s (R-S.C.) explicitly partisan appeal didn’t sway the holdouts, and the legislation remains two to three votes short of being able to beat a filibuster. And the office of state Sen. MIKE McDONNELL, who joined the GOP just this year and is one of the key votes, told the Nebraska Examiner’s Aaron Sanderford that “as of today” he’s still a no.

These kinds of changes should never be allowed on the same year as an election. Do it in 2025 if you want, and then everyone can play by those rules. But doing it now is just such a craven and partisan move.

This looks like…ELECTION INTERFERENCE!

This is wild and really makes me uneasy.

Just shows you we live in a fascist country if that happens. Lindsey Graham is a piece of corrupt garbage. Bet these lawmaker's families are getting threats. How about if we threaten the people who make threats?

Why is Lindsey Graham inserting himself into Nebraska?

What is the Kompromat that Trump has on Graham? Seems like Graham operates any which way Trump wants.

Thank goodness. The gop can see the light at the end of tunnel of Trump’s hold.

I can only imagine that the gop defections we are seeing is that they can see Trump is sinking and they want to get off the ship. Springfield was a big mistake.

It's not common sense and decency. It's that that guy wants to not piss off the people of Omaha.

It's all politics.

I hate Lindsey Graham but he's just being a politician here. I don't see how it's "grotesque".
