I'm super obese and actually love salads and get praise for eating them. People need to just not comment on what others eat. I eat meat (cow) once or twice a month and I'm sure I'd get negative comments if I ate that in public. |
75% of heart attack patients have normal or low cholesterol. Lowering your cholesterol has nothing to do with preventing heart attacks. But there is plenty of data that shows statins significantly increases your odds of developing diabetes |
"One study of almost 9,000 people showed that people in their 60s who used statins had an almost 40 percent higher risk of type 2 diabetes. They also had higher rates of high blood sugar and pre-diabetes, or insulin resistance. High blood sugar disorders underpin numerous chronic inflammatory conditions, including Alzheimer’s and dementia. Previous research found a 50 percent increased risk of diabetes in women who took statins" |
Oh well. I get my blood tested yearly. Would rather have that 'increased risk' than deal with high cholesterol consequences. |
Lol. There are no high cholesterol consequences. Those were made up by pharmaceutical companies. |
Sorry, OP. I've been on the giving and receiving end of this type of thing. It sucks the life out of me when I have to explain food allergies time and again, so now I don't. I pivot.
But I'm sure I'd still inadvertently bring up something awkward for someone else. |
