DWTS. 2024

I watched last night for the first time in years, in part because teenage DD loves Ilona. So glad Tyra is gone. I always enjoyed Tom's wit as a host. I follow Ilona on IG and really hope her votes carry her as far as possible this season, but she won't win.

Tori was a good dancer! Sad she was voted off.

There is no world in which Tori Spelling is a good dancer. Also, she was singing the lyrics during her routine.

Same, same! But Alfonso and Julianne are doing a great job. I also enjoy having the band and singers visible again versus hidden somewhere and having the troupe do dances in between the pro/celeb dances.

Tori was not a good dancer but at least she was enthusiastic and happy to be there versus Anna's bad attitude.

I liked Tori and thought she did a decent job with her routine.

I don't watch, but have become a total Ilona fangirl (she's the only reason I clicked on the thread). Love her and hope the newfound attention doesn't make her obnoxious.

I record it and then fast forward to Ilona's and Stephen's dances. I'd never watched before, and wow, is it a long show. Is it always 2 hours?

Love pommel horse guy. Hope he wins. Glad Anna got the boot.

Usually yes. When the show first started they had the dancing on one night and the next night the eliminations. So they have cut back.

Stephen needs to learn to move his hips, and pull back some of his energy. He dances like a puppy excited to finally be out of its crate when its favorite person has come to visit.

Watched the finale last night. I've never watched before, but now that I ballroom dance, I find it interesting.
Once again, just like in every other "talent" show where the people get to vote, we get it wrong. These shows should make it so the judges scores carries more weight. The judges had it right (leader board). We got it wrong!!! SMH!!

I was rooting hard for Ilona. I haven't watched in years but Ilona got me watching. I read some stuff from sites that carefully follow these shows - though to be honest I'm surprised there isn't more detail available on voting.

Apparently Bachelor Nation is a powerful voting block and while Ilona's natural charm came close it wasn't enough. When a Bachelor contestant has any dancing ability they've won in the past tend seasons, it seems. To be fair to the winner, he was a really good dancer.

Was Chandler the best dancer last night (and in the final 5?). Probably. last year a thin talented youngster won, and my guess was the same wouldn't happen again. The other thing is the voting public tends to not like it when someone with dancing experience comes in and seems to run away with it. It strikes a sour note with a segment of the voting population. That's why Chandler played down any past dance experience (and she only had childhood dancing, not a ton) and played up how humble she was. All the cast (the ones who make it far) are very savvy about speaking to the public correctly in their few short interviews. There's a strong storyline for successful contestants of coming in new and just learning it - throwing themselves into it and discovering a new passion for dance. Athletes tend to do well in the competition because they are used to putting in the training. So Ilona - in addition to having her powerful messaging of being a "big" strong girl, also had the most growth going for her. Joey had done cheer in high school? College? And is also an athlete (tennis). He just has a lot of raw talent.

I think the top 3 was correct. My personal list was Ilona, Joey, and then Chandler.

Ilona talked about how hopeful she is to have Alan as a forever friend, and it was SO vulnerable and sweet. I hope he never does her dirty.

Was it my imagination or was there a dude in a dress dancing? I was just flipping channels and saw a snippet.

Ilona was not a good dancer. Period. But she was better than Stephen. I guess I would’ve put her in 3rd of the final five.
