I grew up in Croatia and women going topless on public beaches was totally normal. No one cared. Lots of nude beaches too.

As a European I think women are free to dress however they like. I go braless sometimes. What do they think about that? Oh yes, I don’t really care.

American women tend to put a lot more effort into grooming themselves than many European women, for example, and have a "sexier" style than many Asian women. For example, blowouts, bouncy girls, elaborate manicures, elaborate makeup in the American style is not so much a thing in the rest of the world. The "girl next door" beauty ideal in the USA is somewhat exotic for people in other continents.

*bouncy curls, though I'm sure they appreciate "bouncy girls" as well

plenty of Europeans and Asians in my barre class that wear the same kind of clothes as the American women.

This is such a stupid post. You obviously know nothing about American culture if you think you will get any answer other than “I don’t care what others think of me.”

Americans are really fat, but so are most Western Europeans now. Asians are much, much smaller and thinner.

How would we know what they think? This is a stupid question.

? presumably many of them are actually Americans of some ethnic descent? So, Asian American? If they've lived here for any number of years, they will probably dress like American women.

Sexist question OP. Go back to your own sexist country. We certainly have enough here.

I am from England. I've lived here on and off since the early 80s when I was a kid.

I think American women don't need to be generalized any more than any other group of women.

What a fxcking misogynistic thread.

+1

I am from central Europe. The question made me cringe.

My immediate family lives in Western Europe, and my cousins live in East Asia. Everyone has a normal figure (AKA "slender" to American eyes) .

So when they see Americans on the news, or if a few of them visit the US, what shocks them to their core is how overweight kids and adults are here. Spillage is out in the open.

In most developed countries, it's perfectly fine to walk about in athleisure, or for older teens and young adults to wear short shorts and crop tops. But over there, precious few people will have tissue hanging out and wobbling. Here it does, and it makes the difference between unexceptional clothes and utter vulgarity.

I've lived in the US for 20 years, but I have to say I agree with that assessment.

Sweetie pie nobody is holding a gun to your head and stopping you from going back to your third world country where you don't have to see utterly vulgarity. Bye bye.

Men and women in a particular Asian country I know very well have said American and Chinese women are entitled and difficult. They advise boys to marry girls with lower expectations from their spouses.

The men do like skin tight workout clothes.

Bottom line: who cares what ignorant, judgmental people think.
