ALL cell phones now are 4G or 5G or 6G and NONE are not "smart phones". They all are, even the flipphones.
If you want a "dumb phone" get a landline. If you want maps, buy a paper map. |
I think that’s exactly what OP is trying to do. |
There is always the Amish Option. They seem to be doing just fine without a mobile Telescreen reporting everywhere they go and everything said to a central repository. |
I think it may be difficult to actually do, so many things require apps for authentication or to function. Unless it’s for a child. Then I can see how it could work. An adult? No way. |
It do they go to concerts ? Everything is an e-ticket now days and tour phone is your ticket |
Don't go to places that don't take cash. Simple. They go out of business then or start taking cash or barter. |
I don't think OP needs to work on herself.
Society is in decline in part because of smartphones - so much oversharing. So much hate spread on whim. So toxic. Plus, maybe she wants it for her kid. I know you know that silicon valley types don't let their young children near smartphones as they know how addictive the phones are. |
You can usually print out your ticket though. |
Last show I went to only had electronic ticketing through ticket master and explicitly said that a printout or a screenshot wouldn't work. You had to show the e ticket with the non-static barcode activated. Super annoying. Op, you might want to look into locking down your existing phone like you would for a child. All apps need to be password approved, so we downloaded the stupid school attendance app and maps and calendar but do not have Internet. You could ask a loved one to set it up for you and give the passcode to a free trusted people you could call on to unlock it if you had a need like concert tickets. The program we have is called Family Link. No idea how it compares to other options as my partner set it up. Otherwise, I use "bedtime" mode a lot which puts the phone in grey scale and limits incoming activity and notifications. I have my boss, children, their school, and a handful of family members able to break through with a call or text. |

I know this is old, but the network type is not what makes a phone ‘smart’. The ability to run apps and other features are what makes them ‘smart’. |
Network determines many things and variables. You are partly correct but offtopic. Smart = wifi and internet capable. Apps are just part of that. |
Flip phone
Good for you |
