What activities are your 3-year-olds signed up for?

swimming only (but was in full time daycare)

Tried not to overdo it so only did one activity a season at that age. Gymnastics was a big hit. “Ballet” and soccer less so.

Where?

Bethesda/Chevy Chase

Is there a Little Gym around there? Their DC location is a huge hit.

My daughter takes a 4:30 class at Bethesda Conservatory of Dance and loves it beyond words.

Oh, I forgot about this place. I looked into it previously. Will check it out again. Thanks!

My daughter is 5 and has at some point done one of the following (in the afternoon after 3 pm):

Ballet (at the JCC)
Tennis (DCDPR - super cheap, maybe check your local DPR for programs?)
Soccer (Soccer Stars)
Music lessons (at Levine Music, but I think Strathmore is closer to you and has similar classes)
Hebrew school
Swim lessons through DCDPR

My almost three year old (turning 3 in 2 weeks) is in swimming, gymnastics, and dance (ballet).

Half day preschool 3 mornings a week. Plus semi private swim lessons. That’s all until at least first or second grade for us. Even then we only add one small activity. Kids need time to play unstructured - that’s literally why I am at home.

My middle child is almost three and in half day preschool but to me doing two hours a week of structured activities (30 mins swimming, 45 mins ballet, 45 mins gymnastics) outside of half day preschool does not take her away from unstructured play. It just gives her something to look forward to and to become proficient in, which ai think she enjoys.

The preschool is more than enough for us. I would have taken 2 mornings if it was an option.

My 2yo10mo daughter is in full-day/5 day a week preschool. We did gymnastics the last 2 weeks but she is definitely not ready so I am pausing until she is 3.

Tried soccer this summer and definitely not ready.

We also will re-start swimming at 3 (did parent & me swimming from 4 months through this summer, I am tiiiiired).

We also have heritage language classes on Sat mornings.

I consider swimming a necessity.

Does she not nap? From the time mine wakes up from her nap, there is really only time for a little outside time before starting to make dinner. Definitely no time to go to a lesson of some sort. Weekends we spend as a family.
