Elizabeth Deli in Friendship Heights.
I recently learned about this deli — which isn’t visible from the street — and it immediately became my new favorite option for sandwiches. Every sandwich that I’ve had from there has been delicious. Note though that their hours are limited. They’re open mornings through mid-afternoon, and closed on Sundays. |
Op here. Hahaha yes actually we had been really active and yes they were delicious. But yes I fully accept the snark! |
| Op here, thanks for all these replies! Forgot about vace- good suggestion. Will also be sure to check out that twinbrook deli. Thanks everyone! |
Gemellis is very good. But it’s a drive. |
| Market on the boulevard in cabin John on MacArthur (next to fish taco) |
Yes. I love their food & staff. Also Capo Deli by Shoe Train |
| All Purpose Pizza makes a nice italian sub. |
| For those saying Vace, what should I get there? I pass that store often and have never been in! |
I actually don’t think their subs are great. The pizzas and pastas are, though! You can buy pizza by the slice or take home a pue (they will half bake it for you if you prefer), and the frozen spinach lasagna is my family’s favorite pasta item. |

+1 Great sandwiches and the people who run the shop are lovely. My number 1 favorite for an Italian sub though is Bradley Food and Beverage. |
| My kids’ sports teams often order sandwiches for the team from Firehouse Subs, Subway or Jimmy Johns. or Potbelly. |
