Where to get great subs around Bethesda

There are plenty of Harris Teeters in the area.

Elizabeth Deli in Friendship Heights.
I recently learned about this deli — which isn’t visible from the street — and it immediately became my new favorite option for sandwiches. Every sandwich that I’ve had from there has been delicious.

Note though that their hours are limited. They’re open mornings through mid-afternoon, and closed on Sundays.

Yes, ugh. Had they spent hours swimming or some other activity? The best hotdog I had was after a white water rafting trip.

Op here. Hahaha yes actually we had been really active and yes they were delicious. But yes I fully accept the snark!

MD in general sucks at making sandwiches. The bread in this area is trash.

The only ones that can barely pass is Gamellis. Or you have to drive into DC and go to A. Litteri.

None of those are near Bethesda though. But overall, DC and the area in geneal is just a very bad sandwich town.

Gemellis is very good. But it’s a drive.

For those saying Vace, what should I get there? I pass that store often and have never been in!

I actually don’t think their subs are great.

The pizzas and pastas are, though! You can buy pizza by the slice or take home a pue (they will half bake it for you if you prefer), and the frozen spinach lasagna is my family’s favorite pasta item.

+1 Great sandwiches and the people who run the shop are lovely. My number 1 favorite for an Italian sub though is Bradley Food and Beverage.

My kids’ sports teams often order sandwiches for the team from Firehouse Subs, Subway or Jimmy Johns. or Potbelly.
