Troll post. LMAO
No athletic recruit chooses between D1 Davidson and D3 Middlebury. One is Atlantic 10 and plays with the big boys. The other is a middling NESCAC, which is maybe better than your average high school conference, but c'mon. Not really sure why the troll is trying to start this conversation. But it's not real. |
thank you for taking the time to mansplain this to us! |
|
We have not been to Middlebury, but like Vermont. I did know one young woman who transferred from Midd because she was turned off by the wealth of the student body.
My daughter did visit Davidson. Very nice campus and town . We were impressed with the caliber of academics and honor code . |
Such a tired talking point. We don’t need to be open-minded about authoritarianism and hate. |
My thought exactly. OP, please tell us the sport that your son is in? |
Depending on sport, NESAC can be better than lower D1. Davidson is definitely lower D1. |
lol Sure |
Which sport? Funny how OP posts their question looking for advice, and then disappears. OP, name your kid's sport. Prove you're not a troll |
I’m not op, but Davidson isn’t competitive in any D1 sport outside track and field. To assert that op must be a troll because her son is also considering a NESAC is bananas, but the Davidson parents on DCUM often act bananas. |
I’ll add that repeatedly claiming op is a troll is a good way to turn her off of Davidson. |
there’s one person on DCUM who has a weird obsession with calling out sports recruiting questions - basically wanting to know every aspect of any OPs kid, even if OP is just asking a general question. Calling out people as trolls is just awful and low class. Think it must be a parent who had a failed recruiting experience with their own kid |
Agree, my experience is also the reverse. Although at both schools you will have a wealthy population of kids generally, so many will have traditionally Republican parents, which is not always a MAGA crowd. But, yeah, more of OP's kid's peers at Davidson. |
Totally wrong take. Depends on the sport, what it takes to be recruited at each school in each sport and what else the kid wants in a school. Also, not everyone chooses a school by the current year's straight rank, athletic or news magazine rank. |
| The kids I know going to Middlebury lean middle of the road/conservative while I know liberal kids going to Davidson (among my college age kid’s friends). I think both groups will be represented on both campuses, and one should rely on other factors, like location, which is quite different, to decide. |
Not pp, but a good sign of a troll is some odd scenario gets tossed out there, and OP never weighs in again. I agree on looks like a troll. But it's a free world. Go ahead and give your advice on what a make-believe child should do. I should add I don't know of any Middlebury men's sport where they would be competitive with Davidson. It's an empty set. |
