Clubs that care about rec as well as travel. Clubs apply for permits then divvy up fields to their teams. Clubs that care about rec teams don't put them on terrible fields in favor of travel. |
A $2700 profit *per rec team* is wild. |
| Very disrespectful to family and the volunteer coach's schedules to not have the schedule out 10 days before the games begin. If it was all volunteers doing their best around their full time jobs, that's a different story. They can get the club side schedule out 6+ weeks in advance. |
| disorganization is often why people quit rec and go to club |
SFL quit doing this thankless job and NCSL took it on more as a charity act just to keep the SFL concept from folding when the SFL organizers folded. IF the NCSL were not doing it you would have 50 different clubs volunteers trying to coordinate on their own and the landscape would be quite different |
If it faded away a lot of the clubs would have to raise travel dues to make of for money they squees out of rec players (look at what PP is paying for NCSL rec) |
How is it a charity act when they are charginig $150 per team sinply to push out a schedule? That seems quite lucrative honestly. |
| I think posting schedules one week before games start is really late. For a professional scheduling service that charges per team. They have a full time employee for just rec teams. |
| We have had the club side schedules for a really long time now. I get aggravated waiting for schedules, I would be irate too. |
| Ok, now this is getting really annoying. |
| What day do the games start? |
Next Saturday (7 days from now). I sat down with my calendar to finally sort our fall family schedule out, pulled up their site....and still nothing!? My DH coaches a rec team in this league and also coaches our younger child's lax team, so really, we need the schedule and so do hundreds of other families! Incredibly dismissive and inconsiderate to the rec side families to be this slow and lazy getting it up. |
I would totally take this job over for $150 per team, which is NCSL's rec pricing. |
| This is one way for NCSL to tell rec families where they stand |
They will happily take their fees though! |
