Electric bill?

Ours was $450 last month, over $600 in the middle of winter. It’s a lot. Large turn of the century house.

Yep, one guy who quoted us just recommended programming the thermostat to switch to furnace around 40 degrees. Kind of defeats the purpose of a heat-pump but it does mean less fossil fuels and heat pumps are not that much more expensive than AC systems anyway.

I have two places, both in the DMV, one with Pepco and one with BGE.

Pepco, 1200 sq ft: $160
BGE, 2600 sq ft: $85

Same temperature.

The BGE one does have a newer HVAC, so that might explain some of the discrepancy.
