this. It's a certain style that's really hard to work with. harder than even older homes. The entire combo of wood colors and style looks dated although well maintained and definitely usable. If you want to upgrade it will cost a ton unless you DYI and you will feel like you are wasteful ripping off perfectly functioning things that don't look worn out. I think they need to stage the house in proper style to appeal to people who like it, but it's not well staged now. |
| Price, location, decor, small bedrooms, lots of wasted space, dated, |
Really? The housing market in Bethesda has been crazy since Covid and particularly this year. I don’t think 1.6m will get you a newer house. |
| Clearly Andrew Nguyen didn’t do a half decent job of prep for this house. |
| Dated and sucky location (kids can’t go anywhere by themselves as the road is too busy). You can’t even walk your dog safely from that location. |
| The upstairs bannister/catwalk make parents of small children nervous? It seems dangerous and not sturdy to me. I’d worry about my kids falling through the railings or dropping toys to below. |
You're right- 3 have sold in ny neighborhood for that or less in past 3 months but they're all older but much more updated inside.. this looks 90s despite being 2010. Others built in early 2000s but move in ready |
Lower the price and it will sell. |

The catwalk is scary.
My friend has a similar home and I hate walking across the exposed hallway. I can’t imagine having young kids there. It’s unnerving. The colors in the first floor need updating. My friend updated her interior paint (which originally looked a lot like the colors in this home) and it made a huge difference. PS - that home will be drafty. |
TOV. Why do you want to pay the useless tax? |
|
People are so lazy with their staging. How hard is it to pick up a bathroom scale and put clutter into a drawer?
The beds are all rumpled and missing a duvet or coverlet. Pictures make or break your listing. |
| It needs 200k to fix everything wrong with it. Reduce the price. |
| They couldn’t even get professional pictures at that price point? Lazy agent or super cheap sellers. |
| Owners should have fired that realtor after the first 30 days on the market, stage the house (why is there a picture of a tv with wires hanging down), get a real photographer, and lower the price by at least 50k more and home will maybe sell. Who knows now that the school year has already started. This is 100% owners fault going with the wrong realtor thinking this messy, ugly furnished house would sell as is. |
| It’s hideous inside. Looks like someone is house poor. Needs hundreds of thousands to update it. Probably overpriced by at least $150k. |
