No. If they are not continuing with the language there is no point. They already have the bump for a honors class. Move on.

The Maryland State HS Graduation requirement includes 2 years of WL. This is, therefore, also the admission requirement for UMD

I would repeat it for an A with an honors bump and then move on. Beats taking another elective for a A and then having no bump.

Except the elective is likely to be something the kid actually wants to take.

If the kid has no interest in the subject which will be obvious because they are not taking the next class level, it’s merely a GPA grab. You would be forcing the kid to endure this class again for very little gain.
