I can't even begin to tell you the benefits of not having a phone at school. The list is too long. She never asked and we never bothered. For parents who are worried, the students will be fine without a phone at school. If they need you to contact you, they have the main office phone in the school.

The main office cannot handle 2000 or more students regularly using their phones. She probably has an iPad or something else. If they are so bad why are you getting her one. Your post makes no sense. I only see the benefits of having one. B

2000 or more students don’t need to use the phone everyday.

Unless that school calls a lockdown and students are frightened as shit not knowing what the F is happening but are hearing of b in their school, with military guards and k-9s, military tankers outside their building. all for which the district has yet to provide an explanation to those students, staff and families for the level of MILITARY (yes that is in fking caps) response at a high school!

Sickening to think of that moment. This culture and country has got to stop fantasizing military

And at that point 2000 students definitely don’t need to be using the phone. Instead they need to be putting into practice drills that include hiding, being quiet, and listening to instructions. Not to mention the oh so important skill of being aware of their surroundings so they can make logical risk based decisions. It is also important that communication channels stay free for emergency response.

And MS access to phone should be very different that HS.

Well for the patents who are electronic addicts like their children, clearly you will see an issue with cell phone ban. Get over it! If they want to institute this policy, they will period.
No wonder children are addicted to these gadgets. It started with parents who addicts. SMH

My kid is a rising 7th grader and likewise has never had a phone or smart watch. Glad to hear this is sustainable into high school.

The main office handled an entire high school full of kids for DECADES before cell phones. It's called planning in advance. Stop rationalizing.

You are an idiot for posting that that poster is "pathetic." Clearly you don't have kids or you have never lived through something similar. Go away. DP

The parents that want their kids to have cell phones in school are clearly the problem. Haven't cut the umbilical cord.

Sounds like Amish country would be a good fit.

It really doesn't matter what schools are doing it as you don't generally have school choice.

If you don't want your kids to have cell phones, don't buy them but don't tell others how to parent.
