ISO: MS and HS with a no cell phone/wearable device policy during school hours

Which schools in mcps have a no cell phone device usage during school hours? Will MCPS institute a district wide ban?
Anonymous
Blake has one for this year coming up.

Does the district plan to consider issuing a district wide ban so each school doesn't have to come up with its own policy?

There's a 38-page topic on the first page of this very forum where you're asking this question: https://www.dcurbanmom.com/jforum/posts/list/1213174.page

No, but they could asked for such a list in that thread and it would've been likely to be responded to and not redundant as it is now with its own separate topic.

Key Middle School has a school wide cell-phone ban. They are not allowed in the classroom.

Silver Creek just announced a new policy prohibiting all such devices, including smartwatches and cell phones, during the school day. Agree this should be the district-wide policy.

My child never had a phone to take to school and she survived it. In fact we plan to get her a phone for the first time this year as a rising 10th grader.
I can't even begin to tell you the benefits of not having a phone at school. The list is too long. She never asked and we never bothered. For parents who are worried, the students will be fine without a phone at school. If they need you to contact you, they have the main office phone in the school.

The main office cannot handle 2000 or more students regularly using their phones. She probably has an iPad or something else. If they are so bad why are you getting her one. Your post makes no sense. I only see the benefits of having one. B

But, you make no sense. Oh there are benefits but we are getting one? No, don’t get your kid one if it’s harmful.

2000 or more students don’t need to use the phone everyday.

Unless that school calls a lockdown and students are frightened as shit not knowing what the F is happening but are hearing of b in their school, with military guards and k-9s, military tankers outside their building. all for which the district has yet to provide an explanation to those students, staff and families for the level of MILITARY (yes that is in fking caps) response at a high school!

What is the consequence if found with a phone?
At the schools saying they’re banned in the classroom?
