She actually still lives nearby and she was interviewed for this article. She was not happy about this either and thinks he should have served the full sentence. |
Well, if you feel like a longer sentence is appropriate for rape, lobby the legislature to change the law. But if people have done their time, we should want them to be productive members of society. And of course, if the guy commits another crime, he should go back to jail. |
Productive members of society, you cannot be serious. Someone that violently rapes people will never be a proactive member of society. They should get no second chances and deserve a life sentence without the possibility of parole. |
umm he didn’t complete his full sentence |
Outrageous |
You’re not gonna change the laws because the white male judge does not want to send a white male 17-year-old to jail for a longer sentence for rape. I’m surprised he got as many years as he did most rapists get 18 months. He probably had a charge of kidnapping or something on top of it. |
| Good for him. I hope he rapes you all. |
Thanks, Mayor Treminio-Lopez. |

Wait, this is a serious thread? The guy has been in prison for pretty much half his life and that isn't enough? He can't have a job? He can't survive? Then why not just have the sentence for sexual assault be the death penalty? We would certainly have fewer men in the world, since about one in three women is a victim of sexual assault.
But then again, given the people who posted on here about the dangers of #MeToo, maybe the death penalty is too much? The guy will be unclogging toilets and spreading fertilizer for slightly above minimum wage after spending about half his life in prison. |
tell that to the women (and her family) who got yanked off the street and gang raped by him and his druggy pals |
Will do. This is literally how our justice system works. We set sentences commensurate with the crime. If you want the guy to starve to death because he can't work, get the law changed. |
DP here Or just have him serve a full sentence for rape |
The criminal justice system, including prisons, has a set of procedures in place to cut costs. This includes parole... and parole in this case was what? 3 years off his sentence? Dude got far more time than most rapists. |
nope. he was sentenced to life imprisonment with all but 25 years suspended |
Again, lobby the legislature to change the law if you don't like it. Meanwhile, there are tons of rapists out there who have never served a day of time in their life, and who won't be found in any sex offender databases. But sure, go after the guy who served 18 years and is now a janitor. |
