Should my teen write a TY note/text to boss of his summer job?

Anonymous
I don’t think it’s necessary. He was hired for a temporary job, worked, got paid and now it’s done. This isn’t an internship. It’s fine if he sends a text but it’s certainly not needed or expected. It would be better to verbally say thank you on his last day to his manager or whoever he reported to while he was there.

Sheesh. Hope the boss is youngish.
People still thank people for interviews, let alone jobs.
Way not to build a bridge.

Thank all of them. Aren't there current/future bridges to be kept in good repair?
Sending a note or text won't blow up a bridge.
Was there some drama or trauma OP didn't know about?

It's a mutually beneficial relationship, not a one-sided contribution (as in the case of giving a gift, which, of course, requires a thank-you note).

This response is mind boggling to me.
