I thought it was stupid and fun.... but I am annoyed that Netflix gave us half the season. So rude.

Why does Gabriel get uglier each season?
He went from dreamy to okay to wtf.

Camille and Emily too, to a lesser degree.

I don’t understand Emily.

She was upset that Alfie ended things. She and Gabriel were both available and he told her he had feelings for her, but she told him it wasn’t going to happen. She’s basically a single woman again. Cool.

Then she goes to the ball and Alfie seems to want her back. She says she needs to choose which guy she wants…but why? She already rejected Gabriel. If there’s a choice to be made, it’s whether she wants to get back together with Alfie or not.

So she makes this supposedly impossible choice, in five seconds, and chooses the one she rejected over the one she wanted back.

Do the writers not keep track of what the characters say from one scene to the next?

She has zero chemistry with Gabriel anymore. That scene in the carriage (which now that you mention it was kind of a rip off of Bridgerton too) they looked like two tweens trying to kiss for the first time. No heat at all. Then you had Alfie dancing at the party in a tux- what woman would EVER choose Gabriel over him? Hell I’d choose Antoine over Gabriel!

I’d choose Alfie, then Antoine, then either of Mindy’s guys, then either of Camille’s brothers, and then Luc over Gabriel. The man has always been boring, and he’s not even attractive anymore.

I noticed this about Gabriel, too! I tried to chalk it up to a bad haircut but there's definitely something off.

They are also dressing Camille much differently than past seasons.

Sweet that Mindy and Nicolas are dating IRL and that he was there for her when she almost died of sepsis!

I think he gained a little weight, but I don’t think that’s it.

In one scene he was wearing a green/blue cardigan and the way his hair was styled, I didn’t even realize it was Gabriel at first!

Yeah, Alfie expressed his very sincere hurt and heartbreak to Emily (the guy was tearful), and then she goes off with Gabriel without a word to Alfie? That’s just terrible writing, and it makes Emily seem even more flakey and unlikeable. Maybe something got lost on the editing room floor.

I watch for the Paris porn - the city is beyond beautiful. I don’t think Gabriel is less handsome - they just have zero chemistry somehow, and their scenes fall flat. And it’s the writing too - he’s become bland. I imagine if we saw him in something else - something edgier - he’d be very attractive.
