Coaching a professional club is different than managing an International squad
Different skillsets required

Yes managing an MLS team in Columbus and managing a national team require different skill sets That has been proven

US Soccer is not like the FAs in Europe where the head coach of the senior team dictates down.

That said, they do shape downstream development in the memos they send out and the camp requests for players from the various youth leagues where the senior team has player profiles for each position they’re looking to fill.
