I know this is not the point of this thread but I am a HS teacher and I see so many kids stressing and anxious about getting straight As, having the highest GPA, etc. It has gotten markedly worse since the pandemic. Kids think they cannot get into a ‘good’ college without perfect grades. It’s sad and concerning. Just putting that out there. |
My kid is around Top 30% of the class with a 3.8 UW in 9th. Wow. |
Ranking after 9th is meaningless. Very few kids are taking any APs in 9th grade; the vast majority of 9th graders’ schedules are very similarly weighted. It’s more differentiated after 10th, then much more after 11th. |
Do you think this is a low percentile for a 3.8 or high? |
Do they do a magna cum laude and cum laude also? |
