women's basketball unwatchable

I love supporting women's sports as the parent of two athletic young women, but holy hell do I loathe women's basketball. Women's NCAA is more exciting than WNBA, but not by much.

I once sat through a Mystics game where for 11 minutes, neither team scored. Up and down the court they ran and shot but nothing went in. It was the most painfully secondhand embarrassing moment I'd experienced in years. I still cringe thinking about that game.

IMO, the WNBA would be more exciting if they stopped trying to be equal with the men and made some concessions: lowered the rim, shortened the court, and changed from 2 20-minute periods to 3 15-minute periods.

8 golds in a row.

The OP is ridiculous.

France could have easily beaten either our mens’s team or women’s team with a few breaks.

The US is no longer dominant. On the men’s side 64 foreign players from the NBA played in the Olympics.

I like women’s basketball and the thing that surprised me is the French team was quicker than the US team. They just lacked some discipline and ball control. I was impressed Griner came back from her ordeal but frankly she is slow and a liability. One of the slower players on the French squad is one of the world’s best shooters- Johannes has taken over games in the WNBA so there is no way the team should have underestimated France and they needed to play crisp basketball. They didn’t.

It's the same as the USWNT. They chose old and slow veterans over young and hungry and they saddled the team with a terrible coach who is passable when she has an overwhelming talent advantage. They were getting killed on the boards because they wouldn't hustle and they left the best rebounder in the game off of the team
