What can we do ? Call them ?
Report ?

I really don’t want my DS drooling over fake hopes

I don’t see how collegevine can be predictive for most kids. Maybe if you go to a really big we’ll know public with mostly unhooked kids?

Anyone get accepted to a reach that CV estimated a 15-20% chance of acceptance?

Just had a closer look at the new stats. I think CollegeVine’s updated algorithm distinguishes between applying with ACT/SAT score and test optional and gives you both probabilities. For my DC, the latter is very close to what it used to be before the change, but the former is significantly higher (ACT is 35).

No but my DD was rejected - not even waitlisted - at a school that gave her a 70% chance of admission. I don’t give too much stock to those numbers.

Really weird. My kid now has no "reaches" on her list. Even Harvard is a "target."

My kid’s chances don’t seem changed significantly.

Mine now has a 78% chance for W&M and a 20% for Brown.

Ok what happened. Reaches went for 10 to 3….

There’s no way so many T20 are targets.

Last year, yes, ED to a T10.

Three years ago, sibling waitlisted at a Collegevine "safety."

Oberlin went from about 37% up to 58%.
Pitt dropped from 75% to 37%.

She’s class of ‘24 and she was accepted to both.

Whoa, same (identical) for my ‘25 kid. These are two of his top choices. Where’d your daughter end up?
