Definitely pick a different weekend. You can come see fall colors in October on a non game weekend. The hotels will be cheaper and you’ll have a nicer visit. What are your Thanksgiving plans? Flying your child home?

We went when our DC was a freshman and it was a lot of fun - but very expensive and very crowded. Now we go for random weekends here and there and have a much more relaxed time. If you’re not even in the country, then I definitely wouldn’t go!
