Why do people wear hats in their cars and in buildings?

OP probably means ballcaps. They are incredibly rude and low class. I have seen them at hotel meals and at auditorium performances.

Because for curly haired folks like myself, if I take it off my hair will be a mess of frizz after. So once the baseball cap goes on, it stays on. I also have a large head and only a few rare caps fit.

I don't know but I saw some total genius wearing a hot winter slouch hat fanning themselves and eating ice cream two days ago.

I wear a hat in my car if it's really sunny because I get migraines from intense sun and a hat both outside and inside a car with all the windows prevents them.

I wear it inside a building because my hat head is just awful even if I brush my hair.

OP here. Yes. On middle aged women in particular, who have no need for sun protection (car, building) I assume their hair is dirty and unwashed.

Because I want to and can. It's not the 1950s anymore. Hats are acceptable pretty much anywhere outside of church and fine dining.

I am 36 and not balding at all. I just love wearing a baseball hat.

My hair grows extremely fast, about an inch and a half a month and I have 90% white hair yet I am in my early 40s and look very young otherwise. I wear hats two weeks out of the month to hide my roots.

Because I have fine hair and once I put a hat on my head, there’s no going back. I’m driving around in my baseball cap and sometimes a bucket hat. Just learned that a baseball cap doesn’t provide the sun protection I thought.

It's 2024 where anything is "acceptable" including sports bras and pajama pants as attire. You still look ridiculous.

Sexist and ageist. I wear a hat because sometimes I can not see when the sun is really glaring. But yes, you "know" I haven't washed my hair. You are a terrible judgmental person.

At a baseball game? You have to be trolling. I wouldn't wear it at the Kennedy Center but, when I see the Nats you better believe I will have my hat on.
