| The type of playground is going to vary by campus. Which one? The amount of outside time might vary be which year, although pretty consistently DD went out daily for 20-30 minutes in each of her 2, 3, and 4 years. She was at Bells Mill. We loved the school and it prepared her well for kindergarten in MCPS. |
My child is at Wonders, but a spot at NRC opened up for him. I love Wonders and would only consider switching to save some money. Has anyone viewed both Wonders and NRC? Any thoughts comparing the two? How about NRC versus other local centers (eg Rock Spring, Sugar Plums)? Any additional information as to how things have been at NRC now that there is a new director? Thanks

| I had my children in another daycare and recently switched to Georgetown Hill at NRC. I just love it. The facility is modern and the teachers are well-educated and informed. They really take pride in their work. The Director is a lovely person and the school runs very well. I have an infant and a two year old there. I couldn't be happier. |
| Hi. We're on the fence for Georgetown NRC. Everyone seemed very nice, but we were there during lunch and it seemed a little chaotic. They had the shades drawn and it was dark. Could you please elaborate on what you like in particular about the school? |

I had my daughter at GHES. Teachers come and go. Toilets are dirty. She wasn't happy there.
Now she's at Bright Horizons, where it's much better. |
Can you tell me more about our experience? We a re considering it for our 5 year old for the pre k program. |
| I am considering GH for my 5 year old son. I would love to hear from people who have been on the Pre K program here. Is the program competitive? Are they really academic? |
Hello, Are you still part of the GH at NRC? I'm considering it for my 5 year old who will be gong to the Pre K program. Thanks for any input you can give me on the school. |
GH at the NRC campus |
I have my two kids there: one is in Pre-K, age 4; one is in the "twos" classroom. This is the third and best daycare we have attended. The teachers are smart and the administration is highly organized. My older child recently went on a field trip to the Air and Space Museum. Her class is putting on a mini-play toward the end of March. They teach to the child's ability and this happens to be a very bright group of kids. I highly recommend the Georgetown Hill Preschool. As for the younger group, they have nearly all of the kids fully potty-trained by age three. They sing a lot, which my daughter loves. Both of my kids are giddy when we arrive in the morning. That must be a good sign. |
PP, which campus are you at? I have my second child in Bells Mill 2s classroom now. My older child did three years at GHES as well, but is now in elementary school. There are changes since my older child went there, but it is essentially the same curriculum and my two year loves to go. |

I have 2 kids at Georgetown Hill Early School (Bells Mill Campus), one is in the TK program and the other is in the 3s. I feel so lucky to have found it. Ms. Lil, the director, is absolutely lovely. They have spanish class every week, along with music and science, and they have had so many hands on experiences, which I really appreciate (there is always a policeman visiting, a fire truck, a reptile show, etc). It's a fantastic program and really feels like such a warm and inviting place. It's a real 'community school'.
I do agree with what one person said about the summer program though. It's not nearly as focused in the summer months and the teachers are not consistent (there's a new teacher for their 'camp' every week because they are all taking vacation). They do have a lot of great field trips for the 4s+ over the summer though! Overall it is an amazing place that my kids love! |
