For store bought I prefer Bay's which are in the refrigerator section near the pre-made cookie doughs.

Agreed. I can get at least 18 XL muffins from a batch. They freeze well, too. I make them on my electric griddle.

A little bit more time? There is a 2 hr rise. Then you have to cook them on a griddle 10-15 min, per side. How many can even fit on the griddle? Mine could probably do 8. So that’s almost an hour of cooking standing at the stove, babysitting them, after the longish rise. I keep wanting to make them, but the time is an issue.

I like Wolferman’s but just a warning to OP that they are very dense. If I have one for breakfast I am usually not up for lunch that day.

Trader Joe’s whole wheat used to be great with few ingredients. They’ve changed and added more junk to them.

I hate Thomas’s, but Bay’s are decent. I don’t want a super dense one like the ones at WF.

Some friends visiting from California brought english muffins from Model Bakery in Sonoma. These were far and away the best english muffins I have ever had, and I love english muffins and try them everywhere. They are available on Goldbelly-- currently trying to justify the price ($50 for 12). They really were that good

Nope. I discovered crumpets and never looked back. Trader Joe’s has crumpets that are ok, and they’re also not hard to make.

I’ve had Wolferman’s.
