Where do kids with his GPA end up from his private school? Each school is different.....not sure we can tell you what works. Do you have access to naviance?

At our private, 3.8/34 with rigor def gets in ED to T11-25 (definitely more in the WashU/Emory camp than Vandy, but it does happen for humanities). ED is VERY important for a 3.8 kid.

My 3.8 got into several T25 schools - private HS/uncommon major/curated theme & niche ECs etc

1. Focus on the summer jobs...that's a BIG area of interest for some colleges (esp Cornell).
2. Take some online courses this summer on philosophy to bump up that interest.
3. Start a philosophical movie blog this summer.
