| would this kid (or my very similar kid) need to ED to CMC? |
| Holy Cross for match |
Geography is huge here. From Harvard Westlake? Yes. From Collegiate… it’s a qualified maybe. |
Yes, imho. Even (or especially) if had more impressive stats. Tiny school. |
Except it makes yielding less likely so I dunno. |
| check naviance from last two years. things prior are already not relevant |
This is your answer. Second option GWU. |
Again, OP needs to check their own school's stats. W&M and GW and 3.4 schools from our DC private. |

Where do kids with his GPA end up from his private school? Each school is different.....not sure we can tell you what works. Do you have access to naviance?
At our private, 3.8/34 with rigor def gets in ED to T11-25 (definitely more in the WashU/Emory camp than Vandy, but it does happen for humanities). ED is VERY important for a 3.8 kid. My 3.8 got into several T25 schools - private HS/uncommon major/curated theme & niche ECs etc |
1. Focus on the summer jobs...that's a BIG area of interest for some colleges (esp Cornell). 2. Take some online courses this summer on philosophy to bump up that interest. 3. Start a philosophical movie blog this summer. I'd search your school's scoir or naviance data for the below: Cornell (Govt or Phil major) WashU Emory CMC Michigan Rice UChicago BC Tufts Colgate Bucknell Lehigh |
