Why do neighbors never vacation together?

| I know a lot of people who do. We’ve only done it once with another family and have taken neighbors kids with us on a trip. The thought of vacationing with other families doesn’t appeal to me but that’s not specific to neighbors. I just don’t want to coordinate for more than four people. |

| I like to vacation with my family. That's it. I don't even like to vacation with close friends. So no, I wouldn't like to vacation with my neighbors (who are lovely people, by the way). |

| I have lived in my apartment building for 16 years. Aside from the fact that my "vacations" are flying home for funerals, I don't even know my neighbors - couldn't pick them out of a lineup. |

We did when the children were young, the window for that was short between 7 to 12 year old.

Vacation is to get away from your neighbors. lol
Though one set we are very close with. They are like our “real” friends. We have gone on va action with them. Friends even with kids grown and flown. |

| My neighbors visited me when I spent 6 months abroad. They are now abroad and have invited me to stay with them. I'm close to a lot of my neighbors. |

Yep, spouse believes vacations are for doing things. I prefer relaxing and having someone to peel the grapes. |

| We’ve vacationed with another family in our neighborhood. Kids are same ages and parents are friends too. It was fun, but we got our own hotel suites and didn’t do the house together thing so we had our own spaces to retreat to and then met up to do things. |

During the Pandemic, we became close with some neighbors (similar family values, enjoy the same leisurely activities, kids similar in age, etc).
We now vacation together on occasion, because we enjoy the same places and it’s a fun group to be with! We don’t vacation with our own (extended) families, so that’s part of it. It’s not complicated. |

| We are close friends with a set of neighbors who have now convinced 3 families, including ours, to buy second homes in the same general area near the sea. We’d been considering it before we met them, but are happy to have pulled the trigger just before the pandemic. |
