I stopped working May 1. My spouse works for a national nonprofit and will be working on July 5.

DH will work. He is firm lawyer so there are no real days off. If you don’t do your work one day, you just have to make it up another day.

Is your office open on the 5th? In Argentina, they will give us a Bridge holiday so people can go travel and spend$$$$$$. I am not sure why don't do that in USA.
PRE-COVID 2019... I remember taking the Metro and it only a few people rode it that day.

I’m a fed and I’m working that day. I don’t need the day off so prefer to preserve the leave.
