I hate summer

Summer is wonderful. DC is not.

I grew up in the SF area where it was cold all summer. I prefer DC summer where you can actually wear shorts and t shirts in the evening.

Why did all of you move here from all these other places with cooler, less humid summer weather?

You all talk about coming from Michigan, New England, the PNW and how the weather in summer is so much better there and how miserable you are here and how you hate summers here..

WTAF? Why did you come here? It couldn’t have been a surprise that the weather here in the summer is hot and humid. You must’ve known this, but yet you moved here anyway.

You’re basically the same people who buy a house next to an airport and complain about noise or move next to a farm and complain about the smell.

And you sound like a playground bully.

Sigh. No, just a mature adult who has reached the "acceptance" phase of life. Since I can't control the weather and all...

SF "cold all summer" - lolwut?

It's lightly crisp at night, which is perfect for opening your windows, and warm during the day. SF in the summer is perfect.

Are you fat?

No hot girl summer for you?

Only 2 days until the days begin to get shorter. It's my favorite thing about summer.

I’m willing to bet that’s the common theme here- fatties. Hot weather is a lot tougher on people with more girth. They have a much smaller mass-to-surface-area ratio, so they can’t shed metabolic heat as quickly as fit people can. So they really ARE hotter in hot weather, because they simply cannot shed excess heat.

Because SCIENCE!!!!!

I am a fit size 0 and I HATE the heat. I think I'm genetically pre-dispositioned to not sweat very much at all so my cooling mechanism is basically broken. I swell up like a balloon and am super miserable all summer. I am also very fair and blonde so have to stay out of the sun for cancer reasons, so all the outdoor activities of summer suck.

You sounds delicate. I'm a size 4 and could certainly kick your butt in the gym.

No one I know who's athletic and fit enjoys the hellhole that DC is in the summer.
