Should I get nanny’s son a graduation gift?

And if I do, would $50 Amazon gift card be appropriate or too low?

Just give $50 cash. I hate gift cards. Give cash so he can get what he wants!

I think a $50 Amazon gift card would look like an afterthought for a high school graduation. If this nanny has been with you for more than a year, I think you should give the graduate $100-$150 cash. If you haven't known her that long, maybe you can reduce the amount and/or offer the gift card. The disagreement is irrelevant to the gift but it's always good to patch things up.

Should be at least $100.

$50 is too low. Makes you look fake sorry.

How much would you give the son of a close friend? You should give the same amount. Be nice, it will go a long way.

Give $100 cash.

No one other than close family gave my kids more than $50 as graduation gifts. $100 is too much, unless you know the son well.

Yes, $100. It’s for the kid, not the nanny.

Op update. I purchased the gift shortly after I posted, and now nanny has been really flighty this week and missed two days of work. I’m annoyed and now leaning towards not giving the gift.

dont be petty. give the gift.

Frankly, it sounds like your relationship has soured. This is bigger than a gift. Either give the gift to her son or don’t, but to me it sounds like you need to move on from her.

I wouldn't as well. Sorry.
