Where can I get really good croissants in upper NW DC?

i think bbmarket gets their croissants from hellar's - the donuts are pretty darn good too.

Have you tried the frozen ones that need proofing at Trader Joe´s? They are pretty good and always "just baked". We also love their pain au chocolat.

Not upper NW, but if you ever find yourself downtown in the morning, Cafe du Parc has awesome croissants (and baguettes). Very authentic.

I second Patisserie Poupon.

The croissants at Chinatown Coffee are pretty good. Not sure where they buy them from though. They are light and flaky and not at all doughy. And I second the Trader Joe's frozen bake your own ones. I think it is difficult to get really good croissants here because the wheat is different to French wheat.
