Better than all of you:
Natural birth no scar don't remember the doctor, got a great baby no complications, just about walked after giving birth The lastest I hear, is that if a doctor insists on a c-section because of a breach baby, then he definitely does not know what he is doing |
OP here. Please, Please, Please just ignore this obnoxious poster. I'd like to read more responses from women who've had C-sections, and I really don't want this thread to go off-track. Thanks to the other PPs who responded. |
You can't even spell breech baby, asshole. |
You're an idiot because the place I got an scar hurts far less than where you got yours! Also I was walking right after recovery, 45 minutes after having my baby. Did you BF by any chance? How was your supply? I was BF while walking around the room and my milk came in plenty supply after just 2 days. |

Small scar on bikini line No complications I had to have a c-section due to pre-eclampsia. However, the doctor was telling me that because my DC was measuring 2 weeks ahead the whole pregnancy, I may have to have an emergency c-section if he was too big. I was determined to deliver naturally, but unfortunately the pre-eclampsia determined the c-section for me. Once my 10 pound baby came out, the doctor said there is no way he would have fit through the birth canal...his shoulders were HUGE! I was a 10 pound baby and my Mom delivered me vaginally. She was torn from front to back and said it caused her some problems later on. She said she should have had a c-section, but they did not do them for that reason back then. 4th degree tears are not fun. |
WTF do you mean "the lastest [sic] I hear". Have you been keeping abreast of the medical journals? And the reason you are not "better" than those of us who had c sections has nothing to do with how you gave birth and everything to do with the fact that you chose to come on here and be a bitch to people who have no effect on your life, and who are just trying to help the OP with some information. How nasty. Hope you aren't passing your attitude on to your kid. |

Nasty? For non-c-section moms to share their experiences, because everyone else gets to, but the non-c-moms must shut up, because the OP will be offended??
women are women |
No, nasty because you think you're 'better' than other moms. You're not. |
| 13:12 - start a new thread to share your non-c-section experiences. This particular thread is for C-section moms. That's specifically what the OP asked. Look, I'll even start one for you. |
You're a class A asshole. Nothing else can describe your need to come on this thread and post what you posted. |

2 c-sections
#1 emergency, a fever spiked mid-labor causing fetal distress Dr. Loveland at Sibley (fantastic) 4 inches scar no infection, though lots of tests on the baby due to the fever #2 planned, I opted out of VBAC Dr. Loveland at Sibley (fantastic again) 3 inch scar that is fading fast (2009 delivery) no complications, more painful than the first. I think laboring helped me heal (contractions to the uterus, etc) |
How did you go from a 4 inch scar to a 3 inch one? Can you still see the remains of the first scar? I have a 5 inch scar from my first one and am hoping to have a good scar next time around. |

I think the problem with the bitchy "natural" birth post is not that she posted, but the superiority complex associated with starting the post with "Better than all of you"
FWIW: CS#1 Who was your OB? Some random Kaiser doctor who was on-call Planned or Emergency? In between -- DD was in fetal distress after 11 hours of labor. I decided a healthy baby was more important to me than someday being able to brag on a message board What hospital? Fairfax INOVA How big is your scar? It was about 3 1/2 inches, they used dissolving stitches Any complications? Yes, massive loss of blood nearly requiring a transfusion, but recovery was easy after that. Back home two days later because the nurses sucked and my former nurse mom decided I would be better taken care of by her at home. Overall, bad or decent experience? (as decent as a C-section can be) Overall, not a bad experience, with the exception of the panic just prior to (regarding DD) and just after (regarding me) the delivery. Still was able to b/f easily, milk came in three days later. CS#2 Who was your OB? Some random Kaiser doctor who was different than the one I was expecting Planned or Emergency? Planned, didn't want to risk VBAC as it was only 18 months since DD's birth What hospital? Fairfax INOVA How big is your scar? It was oddly smaller this time around and I think they used staples Any complications? None Overall, bad or decent experience? (as decent as a C-section can be) Overall, my best experience -- recovery was much easier than the first time around because I didn't have to labor beforehand. Hospital experience sucked as nursing staff "forgot" to bring me my liquid dinner and I was starving after fasting from the night before in preparation for the surgery. DS was perfectly healthy. CS#3 Who was your OB? Dr Tran, Capital Womens Care Planned or Emergency? In between -- planned for 38 week c/s with twins, delivered at 36 weeks due to pre-E What hospital? Fairfax INOVA -- as noted above, I would have killed to deliver elsewhere, but they have the best NICU and it was twins How big is your scar? Bigger this time around, maybe 4 1/2 inches at the bikini line. Only my aesthetician ever notices it. Any complications? My kidneys shut down following surgery (may have been related to the pre-E or GD, but not to the c/s itself). The scar had trouble closing completely, but it wasn't a big deal. Overall, bad or decent experience? (as decent as a C-section can be) Except for the panic going into delivery, not so bad. They didn't really tell me about the kidney complications until after it had resolved. Fabulous outcome, b/g twins. One note, make sure you stay on top of your pain with the pain meds. Following CS#1, no one told me I had to REQUEST pain meds. The epidural had worn off and I tried to get up and nearly passed out from the pain. It's hard to get ahead of the pain if you let the pain meds lapse in between doses. Learned my lesson and by CS#3, I was able to go in to work for a meeting five days after delivery (walking slowly and on meds) but I made it. |
| Wow, PP, I give you a TON of credit for going through that two more times after your first experience with the blood transfusion. Impressive! |

--Dr. Richard Beckerman (Foxhall OB/Gyn)
--Unplanned. Failed induction and then baby's heart rate was fluctuating. It happened quick but not exactly emergency--I didn't need to be put under general anesthesia or anything. --Sibley. I was there for 5 days including the induction and had a very good experience. My baby had to be in the special care nursery for a few days and they were AMAZING. --Less than 5 inches, barely visible at 7 months post-partum. --Nope. I had been hoping for a vaginal birth but the c-section was completely fine. I know that more and more doctors are doing VBACs these days but I have no interest. |
