Our Congregation does a full year program in 8th grade and it includes everyone. It has been this way for generations. |
Of course they do. And all the students are mortified and uncomfortable and ask no questions. (Btw, nowadays puberty for many many kids starts before 8th grade. So that's pretty late and somewhat useless.) |
You are stupid move along |

Big whoop family education
Anyone opposed go homeschool |
Not really, they get a shorter version in 6th grade too. So most are prepared. The students do ask questions and are generally not mortified. |
That topic is discussed in 4th grade. Many girls have not started their cycle so they are a little more anxious about it and they want to ask questions - without a boy sitting right next to them. |
And are the topics the same as they are with the 8th-grade FCPS curriculum or is it a lighter version? |
FCPS is the lighter version. |
No, dear. |

| Just opt out. No big deal. |
Why is the burden on us to opt out? Why not just make it a program people would agree on? Why the desperation to combine young boys and girls to discuss puberty when parents and children overwhelmingly don't want this? Why even ask parents to take surveys if you're going to ignore them? |
No, that's not the solution to a district wide curriculum. It's the opposite of a solution, for every child. |
Please keep your religion out of public schools. |
