Anyone able to lose weight on a beta blocker?

Anonymous
I do low dose propranolol for anxiety. No weight gain at all. I’ve actually added some walking to my usual workout routines and I’ve lost weight (I was already fit but don’t mind the last 5 pounds being gone) Maybe ask about switching drugs?

What happens when you do high impacr cardio on a beta blocker?

Specifically when running I feel like I can't catch my breath and my chest feels heavy. I normally run 4-5 miles but when I tried to run after taking a beta blocker I was winded after a mile. I pushed through it but had to keep stopping for breaks.

+1 had the same experience. It literally prevents your heart from beating fast enough to sustain the exercise.
