Are you stupid or what?

I am not that poster and agree this is not McPS fault but it is sort of a poetic ending to their HS career, in which bathroom access was a persistent problem. Their unofficiall school motto “just hold it until you can get to a fast food restaurant at lunch.”

I had to walk my mom several minutes to use a bathroom in another building. They did end up opening doors earlier than 8:30, maybe around 8:20 (and maybe because ppl were complaining about the bathroom situation).

the full mcps experience!

An hour drive for graduation? That is nuts.
Why would MCPS pick UMBC?

Can’t they do it at Strathmore or MC?

We did graduation there last week. I was surprised by just how full the basketball arena was, and we aren't a particularly large school.

I don't know what venues are available in moco, but I'm sure neither of those suggestions would come close.

Because of unlimited tickets. Tickets should be limited to 4 and pick a smaller more convenient venue.

The participants sitting on stage were yawning at the 9:00 ceremony. Few engaged in on stage conversations. If they didn't want to be there, don't come. Please.

Strathmore seats fewer than 2000. A moderate HS has a graduating class over 600, some have 700+. Just 2 or 3 tickets per student?

MC has nothing more than a quarter that size.

Strathmore would be best. A central location for most MCP HS. Lots of space outside to set up chairs (or bring your own blankets for grass) for guests who can withstand various weather conditions and set up a huge screen for the outside guests to watch what's going on inside. Tickets 3 for inside, up to 2 for outside. Strathmore puts on many events they can do this. But what's the cost?

Nope. You wait in a line outside and they let you in at 8 am. Just did this last week.

MC puts up an air conditioned tent (4000-5000 people) on their athletic field with full stage, multiple camera rigs, and adjacent restroom trailers. There’s tons of parking and they use their theatre for overflow. MC’s graduation is the week before Memorial Day. I don’t understand why MC and MCPS don’t partner together and keep the setup to run MCPS graduations there.

Probably the cost of an air-conditioned tent and all you described for 5000 people is over MCPS Budget.
