Lands End vs LLBean Boat Totes

+1. The large open LL Bean tote is good for packing larger items and the canvas is very stiff. Land’s End is more of a large purse with pockets, etc. and a good weekend bag or carryon.

I don’t want to hate on the boat tote but I really prefer scout bags. In our humid climate boat totes for me always ended up kind of stiff and suspicious. Maybe I just didn’t wash them enough. But scout bags are lighter and don’t hold anyway water, so I wouldn’t go back.

Agree with the pp comment that bean’s boat totes are stiff and heavy.

Lands End ones are softer.

They’re both great, but I find my Lands End one more comfortable to carry.

I have both. I agree with PPs that the Lands End version has better organization. But both are fine.

I have both since my employer has gotten branded ones from both. Both have held up though the lands end ones seem to have more features like pockets

I didn't realize the LL Bean ones are still made in the US -- that might tip it for me. (LL Bean has moved most of their production off shore.)

Yup, made in Maine. LE is imported.
