Anyone have one of each? I’m curious if one holds up better or is made better?
|
| I have both and they both hold up well, but the LE tote has much nicer features/options and is by far the better product. |
| Always a monogrammed LLBean tote. |
| I pick LL Bean’s mainly bc it is made in US still |
|
LL Bean totes will be around after the apocalypse.
I don’t have a Land’s End boat tote, but the quality of their backpacks sucks. My kid got barely a year out of his. We bought L.L. Bean instead and it’s been going strong for five years of hard daily use. |
| LL Bean, with the long handles so you can easily get it over your shoulder. I've had one for 20 years and another for ~ 13 years. They're indestructible. |
| I prefer LE, more pockets & a key clip |
| I have both. I use my LL Bean tote for farmers markets and similar things where I don't need any type of organization, but my Land's End tote is more functional - has pockets, key leash, etc. |
| For me, it comes down to if I want to use the handles on my shoulder or not. The LE has handles that are long enough to go over my shoulder easily, even with a coat on, but short enough that the bag still tucks under my arm (I’m tallish and my shoulders aren’t huge, but they aren’t dainty). If I’m just carrying it, I go with either depending on color, etc. I actually went to the LL Bean store to “try on” handle lengths and bag sizes. |
| Both are fine, but I don't use either much because they tend to be bulky for what they are and I hate cleaning them. |
| so heavy the LL Bean ones. They only work as bags if you have deck hands to carry them. |
|
I've had my land's end ones for 13 years and they are good as new. I agree that their backpacks are sub-par but the totes are good.
I didn't realize the LL Bean ones are still made in the US -- that might tip it for me. (LL Bean has moved most of their production off shore.) |
| I have a large lands end one that’s 10+ years old and going strong. I use it for the beach. |
|
They are both good.
LOVE the zipper and long shoulder strap options. |
| My lands ends ones are going strong 15 years later. I bought large ones to use as luggage on car trips (easy to squish into a roof bag or cargo area). They are heavy, though. |
