Math SOL Results Up

Anonymous
Middle schoolers got their results earlier. But elementary are all on different dates. My son is 6th aap and they took math on May 23 and reading May 6. My guess is they won’t get back until last day of school…

The test was on 5/14 - the scores are not up yet.

Its not like they are hand grading it. It would take a few days to scan, verify, and report.

It's a bit sus that we find out close to the last day of school, so we don't bother the school?

The explanation given on the FCPS board by people claiming to be teachers is that VDOE reserves some time after test results come in to check and make sure that there wasn't one outlier question (say the majority of the state just bombed one question or something) and make minor modifications to the scoring system. Apparently VDOE hasn't used that in years, but they reserve that time.

After that FCPS has to put together their cover letter for the new scoring report from the state, I guess.

Or what you said

DS took the 7th grade SOL as an advanced math student on 5/14 and still no results while other schools who took it that day have their results.

It makes absolutely no sense why my 6th grade kid, who took the math SOL later than just about anybody (I just remembered that he was sick for the 5/21 date and took a makeup a few days later), knows his scores and we know which math class he's going into and others don't. They get graded on the same machines.

Do you know that they have their results, or just reading it here?

I posted earlier. We definitely have our results. They're on the test results tab in ParentVue. What I'm wondering is why math results are available but reading, which was administered earlier at our school, are not.

My son had on 23rd (grade 6, aap.) My guess is last day of school in that case.

I’m guessing they have to wait for all the make ups and retakes. They have the results instantly.

My DD's school said June 3, then week of June 3, now last day of school. This is the Algebra 1 decider for her and many of her classmates, so they all seem to be/are very stressed and disappointed.

Interesting. My 4th grader at KM doesn’t have theirs up yet. What grade is your child?

He's in 6th grade so we were waiting to get it so that we'd know if he was going to do Algebra 1 next year. The weekly email from his teachers said June 3rd and that's when we got it.

How did you get it? Was it posted in SIS?
