McLean is on the regional and state list. Ranked 12 and 20 (2 teams) at regional and 27 at state. I think your concern might be misplaced.

Only 27 teams competed at States so you don't know what you're talking about. Their ranking of 24 in every single event indicates that they didn't actually send a team. Same deal with McLean Silver at the regional event. McLean Red participated but didn't do particularly well with their 12th place finish.

What is actually astonishing about the Centreville Regional Tournament is that Fairfax HS won, beating all 3 TJ teams.

Fairfax HS came in 3rd at the State tournament - TJ and Langley went to Nationals.

Maybe not but they still went to Nationals. Point was that Fairfax HS had a great day at Regionals.

We lived on the west coast and Science Olympiad was an amazing program there. It doesn’t get nearly enough attention here in VA and is run so different. We’ve been to two diff school districts in VA and it’s sad that it’s not at the same level.
