Haha not even remotely close, have you actually looked at average nanny salaries lately

OP here. The nannies in our area quoted $25-35hr. We would be easily paying $50k in a nanny salary with taxes.

It will be much cheaper to get all these amenities for my MIL. Possibly $5-10k/yr.

This all sounds lovely. The regular massage sounds like it would be appreciated, that’s a great idea.

Nothing else I can think of beyond the PPs good advice of not nitpicking her style. Let her do her thing while she is in charge.

Ask her if the things you’re proposing—all nice things certainly—are things she would actually like.

OP here. We have a big chunk and he been causes issues for me that I bought a massage package. He gained 3lbs in the first month since birth. He’s already almost 12lbs at 8 weeks.

It’s incredibly unlikely that you would be able to find an even semi decent reliable part time nanny for less than $30/ hour, so figure a base minimum of $810/week for the 27 hours op is seeking (and that’s before taxes and any other expenses)

In contrast, per the below, a generous estimate of the perks op suggests offering her MIL adds up to ~$350/week (less than $13/hour)

Get her Uber to/from ( 3 miles away)

$15-20 per ride (so $90-120/week assuming 3 days/week of care)

- Buy a coffee machine and keep it stocked with her favorites

Upfront one time cost of $200 then ~$20/week for a generous allotment of coffee pods
- Keep her favorite snacks stocked (~$50/week)
- Setup DD on IPad for her to order herself lunch. ($75/ week for three lunches)

- Set her up with a meal subscription for days she works.
($75/week for 3 meals)

- Get her a message package for a bi-weekly or monthly massage. Our baby is a a chunk already and holding him isn’t easy on the muscles. ~$50/week (massage envy currently is offering a massage package for $50/month- to be conservative I’ve quadrupled that)

OP here. Thanks for the breakdown. My husband handles our finances and he did a checklist of what we can offer. I will show him this.
