This. Take away sros, consequences and combine that with bad parenting and you get this.

Nope. SROs would have made things worse.
The CEO program is working just fine.

This is occurring all across the US, not just MCPS. This should also be seen as a family problem, not just MCPS. The system doesn't raise the kids, etc.

Yes. Exactly this. This is a national crisis.

So MCPS has no responsibility or accountability for how it is failing to respond to enhance safety protocols because this is a “national crisis”?! That makes sense to you?

How is MCPS is falling to safety protocols?

It is fine but SRO's and more of them are far better. Plus, they need detectors to stop this stuff from entering the school. Let me guess, yours are in private or graduated.

One graduating this year and 2 more in the system.'
No, we don't need SRO. The CEO program is working great.

Yep.
The poster saying things are great and everything is working is the dog cartoon/meme sitting at the table with his drink saying this is fine. Everything is fine while the room burns down around him.

If everything is great, why are we having so many issues?

Here we go again with the mcps hijinks. Still think no standards or consequences is bright idea. Still think we should blame the teachers for poor classroom management. Newly minted teachers need options in non educational fields. It's like telling a soldier that they have to fight a war for the rest of their lives in order to qualify for retirement.

It's probably the process when a parent of the minor is not present to give permission for the security guard to search their child.

Dude. It's a frigging loaded gun.. they could have panicked, pulled it out and started shooting.
The police should have been there before rhe student was pulled out of the classroom.

We have become a society of morons.

I believe the article said the ammunition did not match the weapon.

Does that mean he couldn't have fired the gun even if he wanted to? Guess the kid was too dumb to realize the ammunition didn't match the gun?

and I’m sure the student will be allowed back into school tomorrow.
